PC For Overwatch – From Basic To Epic
Have you made the decision to immerse yourself in the world of Overwatch? Then it is time to make sure your current PC matches the specs, or to choose a new PC for Overwatch which will allow you to enjoy the game to its fullest.
Overwatch Minimum Specs – Playing On A Budget
Blizzard Entertainment has declared the following specs as the bare minimum for playing Overwatch:
• Windows 7 or Newer – 64-Bit
• Intel Core i3 or an AMD Phenom X3 8560
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460, or Intel HD 4400, or ATI Radeon HD4850
• 4GB Memory
• 30GB Hard Drive Space
• 1024×768 Display Capability
Yes, you could play Overwatch with those specs. You would hate it. Gameplay will stutter at times. The experience will not be smooth. It is OK to test Overwatch and see if you enjoy the game with those specs, but once you are addicted, you will need a more powerful PC.
PC For Overwatch – Performance Specs – Let’s Go Epic!
Are you serious about your gameplay and want a PC which provides smooth graphics, high detail, and allows you to flow through the game seamlessly? Then you need to consider more robust PC specifications. Here is what we suggest for ultimate play:
• Windows 10 – 64-Bit
• Intel i7-9600K
• NVidia GeForce RTX-2700
• 525GB SSD Drive
• 16GB Memory
• ASUS ROG Strix Z390-E Motherboard (Other brands work great, also)
What will these specifications give you? You can play at a full 144fps, with all of the most intense graphics settings turned on. You will get higher detail in clouds, lighting, models, and every item you see in the game. Higher framerates and greater detail give you an advantage in the game. You see more, you move quicker, you react like it is real life.
This level of PC for Overwatch allows you to play in Epic Mode, which is the highest intensity possible in Overwatch. Do you need to hit these specs to enjoy the game? Of course not, you can hit a happy medium and build a PC which hits 60fps and gives great detail for a significantly lower price. If you are working on a tight budget, we recommend a PC with the following specs.
The 60FPS Overwatch Option – Great Gameplay At A Lower Cost
• Windows 10 – 64-Bit
• Intel Core i5-9600K
• NVidia GeForce RTX-2060
• 275GB SSD Drive
• 8GB Memory
• MSI Z390-A PRO (Other motherboards will work great, too)
You have probably noticed we stuck with Intel processors in both lists of specs. You can get great gameplay from high-end AMD processors, also. We tend to prefer Intel processors, while other players like AMD better.
We selected NVidia graphics cards due to their higher performance in Overwatch. They tend to run 10% faster in Overwatch for the same amount of money. You get high detail, fast framerates, and save a few dollars.
Important Note: It is tempting to go with a standard hard drive to save money, but don’t do it. Stick to an SSD drive for the highest performance. Gameplay will be smoother.
Following these suggestions will let you build, or buy, a PC for Overwatch which provides great performance at a reasonable price.
